In April, fifteen high school students from the American School of Barcelona, accompanied by faculty chaperones Ms. Marta Vernet (Head of Activities Community Service) and Mr. Javier Caparros (Activities Coordinator), embarked on an incredible 12-day service trip to Botswana to support and empower the refugee youth at the Dukwi Refugee Camp.
Our students participated in knowledge sharing and best practices, helped connect a refugee camp to the internet (thank you to the Klipper family for their generous donation), trained up a female soccer team, and painted a youth center. They say it takes a village, and this annual ASB service trip once again demonstrates the incredible impact and transformation our students can make in the lives of others. We hope this experience will inspire ASB students to continue engaging in service and advocacy work and that they will continue to find ways to serve their community and make a positive impact on the world.
