ASB seniors were grateful to alumni who shared university tips and experiences about life after ASB on campus and virtually on Friday, January 17. Organized by HS Student Life Coordinator Ms. Monica Villanueva and the alumni relations office, our Grade 12 students heard first-hand about IB and university application processes and tips to ease the transition from school to university.
Having alumni return to campus is a great learning experience for current students, giving them the chance to hear firsthand about life beyond ASB from people who were once in their shoes. These interactions provide real-world perspectives, reassurance, and practical advice that can’t always be found in a brochure or presentation. At the same time, returning alumni benefit by giving back to their school community, reconnecting with former teachers and classmates, and reflecting on their growth since graduating. It’s a full-circle moment that strengthens the ASB network and keeps the bond between past and present students alive.
Much appreciation to the following alums for their support (in alphabetical order) and high school advisors for facilitating the sessions:
Eva De Jong '16 (Tilburg University, The Netherlands)
McKenna Fellman '22 (University of Leeds, UK)
Zach Freer '23 (Brown University, US)
Alex Kartashov '20 (UCL School of Management, UK)
Maile Monds '21(University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands)
Sofia Solntseva '22 (University of Navarra, Spain)
Toni Teofilova '23 (International University of Monaco, Monaco)
