ASB Alumni Inspire at TEDxASB 2025: Voices That Spark Change

Alumni, parents, and students unite for an evening of ideas, insight, and inspiration.

TEDxASBarcelona 2025: Inspiring Voices, Fresh Perspectives brought together eight remarkable speakers from across the ASB community on the evening of October, 27. Students, parents, and alumni speakers took to the stage for an unforgettable night of thought-provoking talks. Each speaker offered a unique lens on contemporary issues, from unwritten gender roles to political engagement and the pursuit of happiness through entrepreneurship.

Among the standout moments were two powerful talks delivered by members of our ASB alumni family.

Yann Grechez (Class of 2023) returned to campus to deliver a compelling talk titled “Why the Left Keeps Losing Votes—and Hearts.” Now studying politics at the University of Amsterdam, Yann explored shifting political attitudes among today’s youth and the challenges of reconnecting with younger generations. Through his growing TikTok channel, @gettingintopolitics, he continues to make political discussion more accessible and engaging for all, proof that his ASB spirit of curiosity and communication is very much alive.

Another inspiring story came from Oscar Sánchez, a longtime ASB parent and entrepreneur, who shared his personal journey toward finding happiness through entrepreneurship. His message resonated with students and adults alike, reminding everyone that purpose and fulfillment often come from building something meaningful. Oscar’s wife Maria, daughter Natalia (Class of 2021), and mother were all in the audience, while his youngest daughter Emma Sánchez (Grade 12) took to the stage as one of this year’s student speakers.

Moments like these capture what makes ASB so special: a close-knit, intergenerational community where ideas are shared, values are lived, and inspiration flows both ways.

A heartfelt thank you to all the speakers, MCs, and organizers who made TEDxASB 2025 a truly memorable night.
