Andrea Colomina '22 visits campus

Shares history of the Colomina family's support of the American School of Barcelona.

The Colomina family name is synonymous with the American School of Barcelona, so it was lovely to have Andrea Colomina from the Class of 2022 visit campus in April. She is now in her first year studying medicine at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in Barcelona. Her younger brother, Tim, is an incoming ninth grader.

Andrea's grandfather, Ramón Colomina, was part of a small group of individuals who helped find the original plot of land and convince the then Board of Trustees to purchase it and move the school to its current location in Esplugues de Llobregat. ASB dedicated the corridor in our current high school building to the Colomina family in appreciation of their support of the school. Ramón served as the President of the school's Board of Trustees for seven years, and all four of his children attended the school.

Below is Andrea with her family at her high school graduation in June 2022.
