You may have seen the striking stone art sculptures installed in front of the Pedralbes Palace on Diagonal in Barcelona by former ASB parent and renowned artist Lluís Lleó.

In March 2021, Lleó was on campus to finish off a large Keystone sculpture he created especially for the American School of Barcelona. Our High School IB visual arts students and art faculty had the opportunity to speak with him to hear firsthand about his career experiences, including his artistic inspirations, biggest influencers, and the reason for his donation. They could also watch him in action as he completed the piece.

Lleó dedicated this special work in appreciation for the education of his two children, Allegra (Class of 2019) and Noah (Grades 6 and 7). He hopes that his sculpture will encourage other parents to value the gifts that ASB gives to their children and encourage parents to give back to the school when they leave.

With much appreciation to Lluís Lleó for his generous gift to the school. Lleó will be joining us at the 60th anniversary community celebration of the American School of Barcelona on Thursday, October 6, 2022, as a special guest to commemorate his gift to the school.
