A Night of Nostalgic Delight

Spotlight Productions' recent audience favorite, high-energy performance of Greased Lightnin' had us all dancing in our seats!

Heartwarming to see ASB alums back on campus supporting Spotlight Productions' recent audience favorite, high-energy performance of Greased Lightnin'! Congratulations to all performers, directing and choreographing staff, and musical and technical support, on a fantastic show!!

Alumna Eira Torras Llinares '22 was the Assistant Director for this production, working alongside Kaitlin Kemp (Director), Renata Ramos and Michelle Spencer (Choreographers), and Ed Aldcroft (Musical Director). Eira has always loved being on stage, dancing, acting, or public speaking.

"Spotlight is beyond grateful for Eira'a commitment to this year's show. She has worked tirelessly on sets on Saturday mornings and costumes. She is an incredible force of talent!" shared Ms. Kaitlin.

"Eira was integral to this year's Spotlight production. During her HS years at ASB, she performed lead roles in Mamma Mia, The Greatest Showman, and assistant-directed Aladdin. Her years of acting and creativity have made her an invaluable assist to the show! Thank you, Eira, for all your hard work!" shared Ms. Michelle.

Alumna and musician Clàudia Baulies '11 started playing violin when she was three, so music has always been a big part of her life. She is a music composer as well as a music and drama teacher at ASB. This is her second Spotlight Productions show - last year, she also played violin in The Sound of Music. She was delighted to be involved in the band again this year.

Alum Lucas Silveira Balloni '22 was a special guest performer in the role of "Teen Angel," singing solo, "Beauty School Dropout," to Frenchie, played by Junior Miranda. Lucas is no stranger to the stage, having performed in several previous Spotlight Productions shows.

"Lucas is an incredibly talented vocalist and has sung on multiple stages throughout his time at ASB. While he entered his first audition for Dancing Queen with trepidation, he immediately found a home in the Spotlight family. Lucas performed lead roles in Dancing Queen, Aladdin, and A Million Dreams. We are grateful to have had him on stage as Teen Angel with us again this year!" shared Ms. Kaitlin.

Wonderful to see our whole community come together to watch and celebrate Spotlight Production's fabulous show on Friday night! Thank you, ASB alums, for your continued involvement and support of the school. Great to see so many of you in the audience too - Vicky '22, Sean '22, Natalia '21, Claudia '20, Chiara '21, and Maria '21!
