Morgan Stanley's Summer Analyst program accepts fewer than 1% of its global applicants. This year, that meant roughly 1,400 spots from a pool of 145,000 candidates worldwide. Three of those spots went to ASB alumni.

Zachary Freer (Brown University), Fernando Rios (New York University), and Ines Azoy (University of Michigan), all Class of 2023, are working across three distinct divisions at one of the world's leading financial institutions.

Those of us who knew them at ASB won't be surprised. Zachary was a standout in our Oracy program, competed in Model United Nations and debate, spoke at TEDxASB, and represented and later coached Team Spain at the World Debate and Speech Championships, experiences that clearly laid the groundwork for a role built on strategic communication and analytical thinking. He joined the Wealth Management division's Consulting Group Strategy & Business Analytics team, which supports approximately 15,000 financial advisors who collectively manage nearly $7 trillion in client assets.

Fernando brought that same drive for engagement to the student council, developing the collaborative instincts that serve him well today in the Investment Banking Division's Latin America Coverage group, where he advises companies across sectors on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic financing transactions.

Ines, a fellow MUN alumna, is working in Human Capital Management on Talent Development, building a playbook for Cornerstone, the firm's learning and development platform, to drive adoption across business units for training, professional development, and event management. It's fitting work for someone who spent her time at ASB thinking about how people learn, debate, and grow together.

The three were welcomed alongside their fellow intern class at an orientation event aboard the Intrepid Museum in New York Harbor. Congratulations, Lynxes, we can't wait to see where this summer takes you.
