Welcome back to ASB former staff member, Robin Berting!

Alumnus and his daughter Camila return to school community

We're delighted to welcome back Robin Berting, our new Head of Admissions, as Alison Carollo moves into our Head of Marketing and Communications role. Robin, a Canadian national, brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to our community, having previously served as our Admissions & Community Relations Manager from 2007-2014. His journey has since taken him and his family across the globe, with roles at the International School of Brussels (ISB), Zurich International School (ZIS), and Branksome Hall Asia (BHA) in South Korea.

Robin’s ties to ASB run deep. His daughters, Cristina (G2-G6) and Camila (PK3-G1) are proud alumnae of the school. Robin and his Korean wife, Eun Ju Youn, were actively involved in our community during their time here—his wife shared her culinary heritage by teaching Korean cooking through the SEED program, while Robin embraced local traditions as a “Geganter” and “Drac,” carrying giants and dragons at over 30 local festivals. A particularly fond memory for Robin was carrying a giant on campus during his last year at ASB.

Now, a decade later, we’re thrilled to welcome them back. Cristina is currently pursuing her studies at the University of Toronto, while Camila will be rejoining ASB as an eleventh grader.

“We’re overjoyed to return to ASB and Barcelona after ten years away. We've explored many corners of the world, but this truly feels like coming home,” Robin shared. “We’re eager to reconnect with old friends and colleagues and equally excited to contribute to the future of this wonderful school.”

Camila echoed the sentiment: "I have such great memories from my time here, and I can’t wait to start on Monday! It’s amazing to have former teachers like Ms. Ana Martinez, Ms. Lisa Davidson, and Ms. Marta Vernet still at the school.”

We couldn’t be happier to have Robin and Camila back with us. Welcome home!
