Alumni Visit: Andrew Noh '17

Starting work for Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in NYC.

We caught up with Andrew Noh ‘17 at our alumni reunion in New York in February, but it was extra special to have him visit campus at the end of March on the final leg of his travels around Europe for spring break.

Andrew recently completed his Juris Doctor of Law from New York University School of Law and now works as an Associate at Debevoise & Plimpton.

He attended the American School of Barcelona, Grades 9 through 12. During his senior year, he was the President of the Student Council and served as Chair at the school’s flagship Model United Nations conference, BCNMUN.

Throughout his visit, former teachers reflected on Andrew and his class’s intellect and motivation. Many have continued their studies in law, research, medicine, entrepreneurship, and mathematics.

“It just shows that hard work pays off,” Mr. Daniel Whitehair (IB Chemistry) said when introducing Andrew to his Grade 11 chemistry class.

Mr. Michael Hennessy (IB History) recalled how Andrew had an intrinsic curiosity about things and would purposely try to find out more about the world.

Ms. Mary Beth Thompson (IB English Literature) recollected how Andrew and his class made a massive impression on her. “I still think about you all a lot. You were an unforgettable class!”

Andrew shared with Mr. Gnagni (IB Math) how prepared he was for his undergraduate studies after his HL Math classes at ASB.

“I miss chatting with Manuel and Ms. Minu in the mornings, sending Mr. Daniel chemistry questions over Whatsapp, and being able to walk into any teacher’s classroom to talk about anything.”
