Welcome back to senior, Mia Scherer '23

From Texas to Barcelona for a year, hear about Mia's next plans for Boston.

Deciding to live in Barcelona for the 2018-19 year, Mia Scherer and her brother Marcus attended the American School of Barcelona when she was in Grade 8 and her brother in Grade 4 following her parent’s decision to live in Spain for a year to improve their children’s Spanish language skills.

As a student, Mia remembers being active in MUN, NESDA, math competitions, playing the French Horn in band, and meeting her good friends, also new students at the time, Meilynn, Emma, and Lily (all current Seniors).

Upon leaving ASB, the Scherer family returned to Austin, Texas, where Mia and her brother continued their education. Mia, now a Senior, will attend Wellesley College, a private women’s liberal arts college in Boston, MA, next year, with plans to undertake a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Philosophy.

Now on Spring Break and visiting Barcelona for the first time since 2019, Mia stopped by campus and was able to reconnect with friends and former teachers like Mr. Ignasi (Tech), Coach Laia (PE), Mr. Kevin (Director of Performing Arts) and Ms. Susan (Librarian).

Great to see you, Mia! All the best next year at Wellesley! See a fun Instagram reel of Mia's visit HERE!
