It was a 60th birthday gift for Torbjörn Pettersson to bring his family back to Barcelona from Sweden to visit the American School of Barcelona, where his two youngest daughters, Isabell (2004-09, G1-4) and Anna '07, attended when the family lived here thirteen years ago. And what a coincidence that ASB is also celebrating its 60th anniversary!
Isabell and Anna could tour the campus with their family - eldest sister, Pernilla, mother, Carina, and Isabell's boyfriend, Filip, also joined. Since they were students at ASB, the school has grown to include a purpose-built elementary and middle school building, a gymnasium/auditorium, and an athletics center. The school has also transformed the soccer field they once knew, which is now a lush green.
It was wonderful for the Pettersson's to reconnect with some familiar faces, including Mr. Volchok, Ms. Marta Vernet, Ms. Anne Mattison, and Ms. Minu Yzaguirre. In addition, Ms. Elena Gutierrez recalled the Santa Lucía festival and the year Anna was Lucía!
Thanks for taking the time to come and visit us! Please save the date for our end-of-the-year 60th celebration on June 8, 2023.
