ASB alum Alex Bartlett ‘21 attended the American School of Barcelona for nine years with his sister, Julia. Their father, Mr. Steve Bartlett, a physics teacher, has been a pillar of the school’s high school for the past 27 years.
Alex is currently studying Energy Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and is considering a double degree in Energy Engineering and Electrical Engineering next semester. He has recently joined the Aula Lliure EEBE mentoring program, giving tutorial classes in physics to first-year engineering students, an opportunity he’s excited and grateful for.
In Grade 10, Alex was an active member of the high school varsity basketball team. “It was a great experience; I learned a lot from Coach Tex and the coaching staff, grew closer to many teammates, and had a very successful season, winning all three major tournaments we participated in, including the ESC title and MVP.”
When reflecting on his time at ASB, he shares that “all the teachers and staff created such a positive and supportive environment. They helped provide a space where students felt safe and motivated to be the best versions of themselves. It’s something you take for granted while you’re there. But when you leave, you realize it’s exceptional to have teachers who always want the best for you and care so much. It makes learning and being in school a much nicer experience.”
Great to reconnect with you, Alex! Once a Lynx, Always a Lynx!
