Welcome back Emma and Nico from the Class of 2019!

Three years have passed since Nicolas Barenblit and Emma Elise Martinez were last on campus.

The duo both now study at ESADE in Barcelona. Nico, who attended ASB from PK to G12 and whose sister, Laura '17, also attended ASB, is studying Global Governance and Law at the Pedralbes campus. Emma, who attended ASB in Grades 10-12, is also studying Global Governance at the Sant Cugat campus.

During the visit, they were able to connect with many former teachers, including their high school history teacher, Mr. Bingle, who shared a copy of Mary Ehrenworth's - Senior Deputy Director of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project - book, "The Civically Engaged Classroom" which cites an article written by Nico when he was a student at ASB. The book supports teachers in giving students the skills, knowledge, and tools to participate actively in society.

Emma was also able to catch up with her former coaches from playing on the ASB Varsity Girls basketball team in the new state-of-the-art gymnasium.
