Founded in 1962 as a not-for-profit organization, ASB has educated thousands of students for more than 60 years. Our community of alumni and current families remains at the heart of our story. There are many ways to continue to give and continue this legacy; by supporting ASB through volunteer time, leadership and gifting, you can honor your education by helping us support our current and future students, contributing to a high level of excellence that provides our students with the best educational experience possible.
Supporting our Students and School
ASB benefits significantly from the generous volunteer and financial support of individuals and corporations within our community. Together we aim to provide the best possible education to ASB students in a world-class teaching and learning environment. Philanthropic and volunteer support from our community is crucial in making ASB a truly unique place.
Campus Enhancements
With support from development initiatives, water fountains around campus were replaced with new refilling stations, providing cold, clean filtered water for our students and teachers, supporting our collaborative efforts to reduce waste and create a more sustainable campus. In addition, the school installed several new outdoor shades for the amphitheater, elementary playground, and outdoor seating area of the cafeteria. These installations allow our students to spend more time outdoors.
A development project for a new Lynx Athletics Center to support our physical education and afterschool sports programs for students began in the Fall of 2021. By the Spring of 2022, more than €300,000 had been raised from a small group of ASB family donors. We are extremely grateful for these early commitments that have enabled us to fast-track our plans to open the Center in September 2022.
Continuous upgrades and enhancements like these are an essential and integral part of being a not-for-profit school, where all revenue from tuition and fees goes to improving facilities, enhancing classroom resources, implementing innovative programs, and recruiting world-class teachers.
ASB is a not-for-profit, private-independent day school that receives no funding from any government, corporations, or other organizations. We manage a balanced budget, meaning tuition, fees, and loans fund our day-to-day operational expenses and building projects. Like other leading international schools worldwide, support from our community enables us to offer our students additional resources, new avenues for growth, new levels of educational excellence, and a level of support that tuition revenue alone will not provide.
