Another successful year for Refugart!

Refugart 2022 continues to raise awareness and funds for refugees globally.

Congratulations on another successful year of raising awareness and funds for refugees through ASB's annual student-led event, Refugart. Almost €5000 raised will directly benefit Ukrainian refugees via our collaboration with UNHCR.

Refugart 2022 involved more than 800 students, from 3 to 18 years old, who enjoyed a day of activities and knowledge sharing in support of the global plight of refugees. Under the leadership of Marta Vernet, Head of Community Service, art teacher, Ms. Ana Martínez, and alumna Ana Holschuh '16, the Refugart executive team, G11 students Edu, Chloe, Laura, Pascal, Meilynn, Nico, Susanna, and Valentina, worked for months on the organization of the event, with the support of art teachers Ms. M, Ms. Linda, Ms. Isabel, and Ms. Luisa. Additionally, IB students and teachers from Global Politics, Math, English Language and Literature, and Visual Arts all contributed to the materials used on the day as part of a first IB interdisciplinary project. Our community also had the opportunity to hear firsthand from a representative from the UNHCR, Vincent Escribano.

"I loved being in the interactive live art station and getting to see all of the kids' wishes for refugees all over the world," shared Ana.

Much appreciation to our Head of Communications, Ms. Valentina, and the support staff who allowed for a flawless event. And of course, to all our students and parents for supporting this vital cause. Truly a community event!
