In March 2026, ASB welcomed alumni siblings Bellani ('91), Zondra ('92), and Carlo ('94) Vitela back to campus. The siblings lived in Barcelona for several years leading up to the 1992 Olympic Games, a memorable time to be in the city.

"The campus looks very different today," they shared, reminiscing about their school days when the soccer field was covered in dirt, there was only one main building, and the high school terrace had no fencing. "We used to sit on the walls up here!"

They also recalled the close-knit feeling of those years, with small class sizes where everyone knew each other, and playing sports on the "red poli" — a place that brought back plenty of memories.

During their visit, the siblings reconnected with former ASB teacher Ms. Febe Belon, whose son Hugo was in the same class as Carlo. The reunion sparked stories from those early days, including a soccer and volleyball trip to Madrid back in 1992.

Carlo also organized a dinner for the Class of 1994, bringing former classmates together to celebrate the reunion and relive old memories.

Reflecting on their visit, the siblings shared that "all children should have the opportunity to go to a school like ASB," adding that their own children have grown up hearing nostalgic stories about the American School of Barcelona.

Thank you for visiting, Bellani, Zondra, and Carlo! We hope to see you back on campus again soon.
