| Pau Tallada |
Earlier this year, we welcomed back two alumni whose visits reflected the deep ties many families have to our school.
Pau Tallada (Class of 2008) attended ASB from PK3–G12. His connection to the school runs deeper than his student days: his mother, Ms. Montse Rodrigo, served for many years as a Catalan teacher, and his grandfather, Sr. Jesús Rodrigo, was a former Director of what was then the Spanish section of the school.
Following ASB, Pau studied Mechanical Engineering at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
It was lovely to have Ms. Montse join the Class of 2016 ten-year reunion on campus, and very special to welcome Pau just a week later! While on campus, he was able to reconnect with several staff members still working at the school.
Omar Arias (Class of 2012) attended ASB from K5 through Grade 12. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Omar's parents saw the opportunity for him to study at the American School of Barcelona shortly after moving to Spain.
Following in his father's footsteps, Omar studied dentistry at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya and now works alongside him at their dental practice, Arias (@ariasclinicadental), in El Prat.
Omar remembers the campus looking very different when he was a student — only one building, and a much smaller footprint. He was delighted to tour the campus and meet some familiar faces, including Director Pingitore, high school secretary Ms. Minu, and his former third-grade teacher, Ms. Meg Holmes.
If you're ever in El Prat and need an English-speaking dentist specializing in root canals, Omar welcomes our ASB community to reach out to him.
