Alumna Elizabeth (Eli) García Carné, Class of 1999, has been a regular presence on ASB's campus over the last few years, filming many of our school events and performances. Modula, the company she founded with her husband Jordi, also had the honor of covering our 60th-anniversary celebration in 2022, capturing a milestone moment in our school community's life.

Long before her career in storytelling began, Eli's love of writing took root in classrooms at ASB, shaped by teachers who left a lasting mark on her.

"I always loved writing at school. I especially remember Mrs. McNamee, my English literature teacher, who really encouraged me to write. One day, near the end of the school year, she took me aside and gave me several books by authors like James Joyce, Virginia Woolf, and Hermann Hesse. I remember her telling me, 'At your age, I know not everybody is ready to read these books, but I know you are. Keep reading and writing.'

"Another special teacher was Mr. Maas. He showed us how to think deeply about the human condition while teaching history. He was so passionate about his work."

After graduating from ASB, Eli earned a degree in advertising and public relations and initially joined her family business. Later, wanting to pursue a more creative, entrepreneurial path, she founded her own communications agency with her husband.

"I have always been passionate about storytelling, scriptwriting, and filmmaking. This passion inspired us to expand our services and begin offering audiovisual coverage for our clients' events and projects. What started as a natural extension of our communication work soon evolved into our own film production company."

Today, Modula TV operates through two branches: Modula Communication and Modula Productions.

"We began by covering small sports events, and over the years, we have grown to produce advertising spots, large-scale event coverage, and documentaries for a wide range of clients."
