It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Javier Urquiza Aguilera, Class of 1980, in the spring of 2026.

Javier was a devoted and proud member of the ASB community, known for his generous spirit and huge heart. A man of strong character and a tireless fighter, he faced life with courage and dignity, and passed as he lived: surrounded by friends, at peace, and secure in the knowledge that he had fulfilled his life's goals.

His connection to ASB began in middle school, after he returned from Canada, where he had spent several formative years. His sister, Laura, Class of 1982, was also part of the ASB family, and Javier remained closely connected to his ASB friends throughout his life.

He is survived by his children, Laura and Victor, and his siblings. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
