Familiar Faces from the Classes of 2023 and 2024

Class of 2024 alumnae Geya and Shiya Ling Bu visited ASB for the first time since graduation. Geya is now in her second year studying Economics at Barnard, Columbia University, and Shiya is in her first year studying Computer Engineering at UPC. The twins caught up with many of their former teachers, including Mr. Whitehair, Mr. Santi, Ms. Barajas, Mr. Marcelo, and long-serving high school secretary Ms. Minu. 

From opposite sides of the globe, two more alumnae reunited in Barcelona as we welcomed back Class of 2023 graduates Lily Poma and Marie Zhuang, whose friendship formed while they were IB art students at ASB with Ms. Ana. Both were back in Europe on exchange programs with their universities. Lily, currently studying Graphic Design at California Baptist University, had spent the last five months at Roehampton University in London, while Marie, undertaking a degree in product design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, had just started her semester abroad at TU Delft in the Netherlands.



While on campus, the duo caught up with former teachers and provided an update on their lives since ASB. Lily shared news of her three sisters, who also attended the school (Emma '23, Meilynn '23, and Jilliana '26), and was also able to visit with her eldest sister, fifth-grade teacher Ms. Kami Poma. They spent time in the familiar art room, where they had spent many hours as students with Ms. Ana, and saw the exciting artwork currently in production to support that week's RefugArt event.

Many of their teachers reflected on how fast the time has passed since Lily and Marie were in their classrooms, and how delighted they are to see them thriving as young adults. Ms. Luisa and Mr. Marcelo were thrilled to see that both had kept up their Spanish!
