Inaugural ASB alumni reunion in London

More than 50 alums spanning four decades reconnecting in London.

The American School of Barcelona held its first international alumni reunion in London on Friday, March 3, 2023, bringing together over 50 former students spanning four decades from across London to convene at The Yorkshire Grey in the heart of the city. The atmosphere was electric as old friends and acquaintances reconnected and caught up on each other's lives, some connecting for the first time in years.

Hosted by ASB's Assistant Director, Bill Volchok, Head of Community Service and long-serving staff and alumna Marta Vernet, and Director of Development and Alumni Relations, Michelle Collin, the evening was filled with laughter as the alums reignited friendships, reminisced on old times, celebrated each other's achievements and caught up on old times while making new memories.

Throughout the reunion, alums had the opportunity to network and exchange contact information, leading to potential professional collaborations and career opportunities. The feedback from attendees and their extended families has been overwhelmingly positive, so much so that the school is now considering future international gatherings in Amsterdam and NYC.

"What a fantastic evening! Thank you for hosting such a special London reunion. It was great to reconnect with old friends and teachers. So amazing to see how the ASB community is so strong worldwide and through generations. Thank you for bringing our ASB family back together!" shared attendee Mireia Lladó Mendoza '20.

"It has been a dream for the school to have an alumni network where our alums can share ideas and things in common. These events bring our alums back together and help keep the ASB spirit alive," shared Bill Volchok.

Marta Vernet proudly introduced her friends and former classmates from the Class of 1985, Eva Sanchez and Miguel Zilvetti, "Our friendship spans 50 years. Imagine the power of ASB!"

"Each and every alum has been a part of our history, making this reunion the perfect opportunity to celebrate our 60th anniversary. It was delightful to put a face to so many names finally. We look forward to hosting reunions in other cities worldwide," Michelle Collin shared.
