A warm welcome back to campus, María José de Esteban Ferrer, former ASB parent and student from the Class of 1976!
María José's family comes from a long line of ASB'ers - her brothers, two daughters, nieces, and nephews all attended the school. In addition, her father, Pedro de Esteban Altirriba, was the school's first Board President, and her granddaughter, Sofia, is a current student.
María José was the guest speaker at her youngest daughter, Marta's high school graduation in 2017. As a former student herself and an ASB mom for so many years, it was a very special moment for both of them.
María José is an adjunct professor at IE Law School, a Senior Research Fellow at Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession, and a partner at the Spanish law firm Escura. She publishes in leading scholarly journals and frequently speaks at professional and academic conferences. A corporate lawyer by trade, she has been listed in the Best Lawyers for Spain since 2010, with over twenty years of international experience. Maria José holds a Ph.D. summa cum laude in Business Administration and is a numerary member of the Royal European Academy of Doctors.
We were delighted to have her stop by campus and visit with Mr. Mark Pingitore (Director), Ms. Marta Verta (Head of Community Service), Ms. Magda Montesinos (HS Counselor), and Ms. Michelle Collin (Director of Alumni Relations). She also greeted long-time HS Chemistry teacher Mr. Mark Smith and HS secretary Ms. Minu.
