From Chicago to Barcelona: Catalina Castañeda Fernández '20

Alumna Catalina Castañeda Fernández '20 stopped by campus last week and was able to visit with her brother Mateo, a senior, as well as former teachers, Mr. Whitehair (Chemistry), Mr. Bartlett (Physics), Coach Tex, Ms. Laia (PE), Mr. Santi (Economics), Ms. Huner (HS Counselor), Ms. Monds (IB Coordinator), and Ms. Minu (HS secretary).

Cata comes from a family of ASB'ers. Her cousins María Paula Hernández '17, Juliana Fernandez '18, Isabela Hernández '22, and Juan David Fernández '22 also attended the school.

She is currently pursuing a Physics degree at the University of Chicago, the same university her father attended. In addition to having a great role model, Catalina's parents encouraged her to learn Mandarin from a young age, which she still sees as advantageous.

All the best this year, Cata!
